The Top 15 US Cities sunk underwater with the highest foreclosure activity

Seven California cities out of top 10 U.S. cities had highest rates of foreclosures, Stockton, where 1 in every 67 homes, Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario (1 in every 73 homes), Vallejo-Fairfield (1 in every 78 homes), Modesto (1 in every 79 homes), Merced (1 in every 83 homes),   Bakersfield (1 in every 87 homes),  Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville- where 1 in every 96 homes received a foreclosure filing in Q3 2012, based on on RealtyTrac’s latest report.

RealtyTrac, a housing market research firm based in Irvine, Calif., reviewed third-quarter foreclosure actions in 212 metropolitan areas with populations of 200,000 or more.

12 of the 20 large metropolitan areas reported drops in foreclosures over the past year, led by San Francisco, Detroit, Los Angeles and Phoenix, here is a list of  the Top 15 US Cities sunk underwater with the highest foreclosure activity:

1. Stockton, California: 1 in every 67 homes received a foreclosure filing in Q3 2012
