As of March 8, 2024,  VANGUARD US TOTAL MARKET SHARES INDEX ETF  is the most valuable company in Australia, with a market cap of $380 billion. Following it are the BHP GROUP LIMITED ($148 billion) and COMMONWEALTH BANK OF AUSTRALIA ($130 billion). Australia’s top five most valuable companies include some of the world’s most renowned brands: CSL LIMITED (No. 4, $89.64 billion) and NATIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK LIMITED (No. 5, $69.44 billion).

Overall, among Australia’s top 10 largest companies by market capitalization, the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth positions are held by WESTPAC BANKING CORPORATION, ANZ GROUP HOLDINGS LIMITED, FORTESCUE LTD, WESFARMERS LIMITED, and MACQUARIE GROUP LIMITED.
