CEOWORLD Magazine Web 2.0 award for Accounting application!

After scrutinizing the web for Web 2.0 sites both new and old, we developed a “short list” of over 25 sites in each category.  The jury was formed by 15 top Internet and Web 2.0 experts from US, India, UK, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Australia, Sweden and South Africa.

The websites were evaluated by majority of votes based on ten main criteria:

-  Content
-  Authority
-  Navigation
-  Design
-  Accessibility
-  Innovation
-  Business sense and growth expectations
-  Degree of competition mix in their market
-  Team
-  Traffic type: blog, wiki, Services using tags, Mash up based on Google / Yahoo / Live.com maps, Feeds and social networking sites etc.


Winners:

1) expensr

Free online personal finance manager. Expensr is founded by Reman Child and Shawn Gupta. As working professionals, they needed a fast and easy way to track their spending habits. After complaining to each other over lunch one day about not knowing where all their money went, they decided to do something about it. That’s how expensr was born. The founders still have trouble putting money away, but at least now they know where it all goes.

2) Mvelopes

Mvelopes Personal is an award-winning online home budgeting system that helps you look to the future and manage your spending accordingly. With Mvelopes you can quickly and easily create an online home budget, track all your spending, and always know exactly how much you have left to spend.

3) BillQ

Blinksale does a killer job at creating, managing and sending your invoices, it doesn’t yet have a built-in time tracking feature.

6) Share bills

Easily share bills from vacations, lunches and dinners with friends and co-workers.

7) Yodlee

8) BudgetEDGE

budgetEDGE is a free and anonymous place for you to create and manage your finances, using a forward-looking, paycheck-driven approach that shows you if (when) you will run out of money.

9) Lessaccounting

It designed the accounting app to meet our needs as small business owners. Less Accounting runs on redundant hard drives. Data backups are made nightly and stored in a different location. SSL (https) encryption is standard with all accounts.

10) Billshare

Create receipts to divide shared expenses. Track spending habits with detailed statistics. Email alerts keep you updated on amounts owed. The group wall and messaging allow group members to communicate effortlessly. It’s easy, simple and free!

11) Turbotax

Turbo Tax 2008 Online tax filing information is provided for the online preparation of your 2008 Tax Year income taxes. We have put together the most popular income tax filing websites, income tax preparation software, tax forms and other tax resources.

12) Invoiceplace

24) Allopass
