Richard Ball Succeeds Shane Doherty as CFO of Cairn Homes
Cairn Homes plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Ball as Chief Financial Officer, following an extensive search process. Richard will succeed Shane Doherty and will officially assume the role of CFO on April 10, 2024. Additionally, he will be appointed as an Executive Director to the Board at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 10, 2024.
Shane Doherty, who announced his decision to step down as CFO in October 2023, will continue to support the transition to his successor until his departure from the company in the third quarter of this year.
John Reynolds, Chairman of Cairn, expressed his enthusiasm for Richard’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience across residential and commercial property sectors.
In response, Richard Ball expressed his excitement about joining Cairn Homes plc and contributing to its vision of providing high-quality, sustainable family homes in Ireland. He looks forward to working alongside Michael and the team to advance the company’s strategic objectives and enhance shareholder value.
Prior to joining Cairn Homes plc, Richard served as a Partner at Urbeo Residential, a prominent residential property firm in Ireland, overseeing all finance and investment functions. He also held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Hibernia REIT plc for five years following its IPO. Richard’s background includes various corporate finance roles, including at Clancourt Group, a commercial property company.
Richard holds a Master of Accountancy from University College Dublin and a B.Sc. in Business Management from Trinity College Dublin. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
