The President and CEO of Green Bay Packers, Mark Murphy, Will Retire

The Green Bay Packers have unveiled the process for selecting the organization’s next leader, who will assume the mantle from Mark Murphy, the Packers’ President and CEO since 2007. Murphy is set to retire formally in July 2025 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70, as stipulated by the organizational by-laws.

Heading the search committee of the Packers Board of Directors is Susan Finco, the Packers executive committee vice president and lead director. Assisting Finco in this crucial endeavor is Dan Ariens, the executive committee secretary and chair of the personnel and compensation committee, serving as the vice chair for the search committee.

Comprising the search committee alongside Finco and Ariens are individuals with diverse expertise and backgrounds, reflecting a cross-section of skills and industries represented on the board. Notable members include Mike Simmer, DJ Long, Marcia Anderson, Karl Schmidt, Michael Barber, Jeff Joerres, Eddie Garcia, Robyn Davis, and Mike Daniels.

Collaborating with the search committee is the esteemed national search firm Korn Ferry, renowned for its expertise in executive searches. Led by Jed Hughes, the Korn Ferry team boasts decades of experience and has previously collaborated with the Packers on key executive searches, including the selection of Murphy in 2007.

Expected to span six to nine months, the search committee’s efforts will culminate in presenting the recommended candidate to the board of directors for approval. The search committee, under Ariens’ stewardship, acknowledges the gravity of their responsibility in selecting the Packers’ future leader.
