Tragic Incident Costs The Life of Vistex CEO

Clear Street_Finance

A tragic incident occurred last week at a packed company event in India, resulting in the death of Sanjay Shah, the CEO of Vistex. The 56-year-old tech executive fell onto a stage during the silver jubilee celebration of the software company. The event, attended by approximately 700 people, also involved company president Raju Datla.

The incident took place as both Shah and Datla were inside a suspended cage, marking the celebration. The chain holding the cage reportedly broke on one side, causing the cage to fall onto the stage. As the cage hovered near the rafters, it began to wobble, leading to the tragic outcome.

Shah succumbed to his injuries at a hospital following the incident, while Datla, who sustained a severe head injury, remains in critical condition.

Sanjay Shah founded the advisory service company Vistex in 1999, with clients including notable names such as Coca-Cola and GM, among others. Vistex paid tribute to both men by lowering their company flag to half-staff. Officials are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
