David Rudow Succeeds Gavin Dennis for the role of CFO at Cover Genius

Cover Genius

Insurtech company Cover Genius has announced the appointment of David Rudow as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Gavin Dennis.

The decision to bring Rudow on board aligns with the company’s strategic focus on solidifying its global leadership in the insurtech sector during its upcoming growth phase.

In his new role, Rudow will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and strategies aimed at supporting the company’s expansion initiatives. This encompasses managing financial planning, executing financial reporting, and optimizing resource allocation to fuel both growth and profitability.

With an extensive background spanning over 18 years in senior financial roles within private equity and venture-backed firms, Rudow brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in financial management.

Previously, he held the position of CFO at nCino, a cloud-based technology company. During his tenure, he successfully orchestrated one of the most significant day-one tech IPOs in the United States in recent decades, along with a successful secondary offering. Rudow also played a pivotal role in the 2021 acquisition of SimpleNexus, a transaction valued at $1.2 billion.

David Rudow expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Cover Genius team and highlighted his motivation to contribute to the company’s financial objectives. He noted the vast market potential within the insurtech industry, amounting to a staggering $7 trillion, and pledged to collaborate closely with the executive team to harness strategic growth prospects that drive financial accomplishments.

Angus McDonald, Cover Genius CEO, and Co-founder, welcomed Rudow’s addition to the team, underscoring his ability to optimize financial operations, bolster profitability, and implement robust financial controls. McDonald emphasized that Rudow’s strategic vision and industry insights would significantly enhance the company’s financial performance, positioning it for success as the chosen insurtech partner for major global digital brands.

Gavin Dennis, the outgoing CFO, will facilitate a seamless transition by working closely with Rudow in his new role. During his tenure, Dennis played a pivotal role in Cover Genius’ growth, overseeing the expansion and development of the finance function since early 2020. He was also instrumental in securing growth capital and overseeing acquisitions, according to a Cover Genius spokesperson.
