Top 10 countries with the most social citizens (new survey), 2022

How social are the citizens in each country around the world? One way to find out is to consider how often they visit a cafe or a bar. A survey was conducted to find out the most social people on the planet according to their presence at restaurants, bars or cafes.

Italians hold first place on the list. Italians are the most social people among other nations since almost half of them (47%) are visiting a pub, bar or café weekly or more often. On a monthly basis, this percentage rises to 75%. Spanish people hold second place on the list since 43% of them go out for a drink to a pub, bar or café οn a weekly basis. On a monthly basis, this percentage rises to 76%.

Greece holds third place on the list with a percentage of 31%. This percentage doubles on a monthly basis as almost two in three Greeks will go out to visit a restaurant or a bar.

The list with the top five most social citizens in the world is completed by Romanians and Chinese. The Romanians hold a fourth place with 28% and the Chinese the fifth place with 27%. On a monthly basis, 62% of the Romanians and 60% of the Chinese citizens go out in order to visit a restaurant or a bar.

South Korea and Australia hold the 6th place of the list as both countries received the same percentage concerning the number of citizens who visit on a weekly basis a restaurant or a bar. This percentage is 22%. When it comes on a monthly basis it rises to 50% for South Koreans and to 48% for Australians.

Also, the United States, Indonesia and Bulgaria hold the same place on the list (7th place) as all these countries gathered the same percentage concerning the number of citizens who visit on a weekly basis a restaurant or a bar. This percentage is 21%. When it comes on a monthly basis it rises to 36% for American citizens, 46% for Indonesians and 45% for Bulgarians.

The citizens of Nigeria follow at the 8th place of the list, as 18% of them visit on a weekly basis a restaurant or a bar. When it comes on a monthly basis this percentage rises to 24%.

Switzerland and Austria complete the last two places on the list. The citizens in Switzerland hold 9th place on the list with 16% of them visiting on a weekly basis a restaurant or a bar and the Austrians hold 10th place on the list with 15% of them visiting on a weekly basis a restaurant or a bar. When it comes on a monthly basis this percentage rises to 63% for the citizens of Switzerland and to 49% for Austrians.

Top 10 countries with the most social citizens

In general, the survey reveals that – due to the pandemic- most people globally feel better meeting others or eating outdoors than indoors. In other words, they prefer visiting restaurants or bars that have outdoor spaces. Austrians for example, hold first place on the list among the citizens globally who prefer outdoor spaces in restaurants and bars. On the contrary, extremely comfortable to sit at indoor spaces feel the Chinese and Romanians.
