Skyscanner Collaborates With OnePoll to Survey The Destination Weddings in APAC
Skyscanner recently collaborated with OnePoll to survey adults who are planning or have already experienced their weddings. The goal was to uncover key preferences and trends for weddings, especially those held in exotic locations, along with associated events like honeymoons and pre-wedding celebrations.
The survey included 6,000 participants aged 18 and above: 2,000 from Australia, 2,000 from India, 1,000 from Singapore, and 1,000 from South Korea.
The findings revealed that 68% of adults in the Asia-Pacific region who are interested in weddings are either planning or have had a destination wedding, with India showing the highest enthusiasm.
As for wedding guests, nearly 75% of Indian respondents reported attending a destination wedding, compared to two-thirds of South Koreans and more than half of Australians who have not yet experienced one.
Cost and budget considerations were the most important factors for over 75% of those interested in weddings in Australia, Singapore, and South Korea. However, in India, parental approval (50%) and cultural traditions (44%) ranked higher than budget, which was the third most important factor at 41%.
When it came to choosing wedding destinations, Asia emerged as a favorite across all surveyed countries, with 47% of APAC respondents naming it their top choice. Asia was the leading pick for participants from India, Singapore, and South Korea, while Australians preferred Oceania.
Regarding the ideal setting for a destination wedding, romantic and beach locations were the top preferences across respondents from Australia, Singapore, India, and South Korea.
