Alexander Pollich to Lead Porsche China, Hong Kong, and Macao
Starting on September 1, 2024, Alexander Pollich will assume the role of President and CEO of Porsche China, Hong Kong, and Macao, based in Shanghai. Pollich brings over 23 years of experience with Porsche, having held various management roles. Since 2018, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. Pollich, an expert in international sales, will now oversee Porsche’s critical Chinese market. Michael Kirsch, the current President and CEO in China, will transition to a new position within the Group, with details to be announced later.
Pollich’s extensive experience includes successfully developing Porsche’s business in Canada and the UK, where he served as CEO. Prior to these roles, Pollich, who holds degrees in business administration and economics, worked in Porsche’s strategy department and established the brand’s global sales network development.
Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, expressed confidence in Pollich’s appointment, highlighting his proven expertise and the strategic importance of the Chinese market. Von Platen also thanked Michael Kirsch for his significant contributions over the past two years.
Pollich’s key responsibilities will encompass safeguarding current operations and implementing a value-oriented growth strategy tailored to the Chinese market. He will also focus on enhancing collaboration with local dealer partners and optimizing internal processes and structures.
Until Pollich’s successor is appointed, the German market will be temporarily managed by Karsten Sohns, CFO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH since 2008, and Thomas Illner, COO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH.
