Lidia Tomova Succeeds Chris Robinson as CEO of DWS Australia
DWS has announced the appointment of Lidia Tomova as the Chief Executive Officer of its Australia division, effective from March 1, 2024. Tomova assumes the role from Chris Robinson and will be tasked with steering the strategic direction of DWS Australia. Chris Robinson, the outgoing CEO, will transition to lead the liquid real assets business in the Asia Pacific region as the Head of Real Estate Securities, Apac.
Pending regulatory approval, Lidia Tomova will also take on the role of Chairperson at DWS Investments Australia Limited (DIAL) while continuing her responsibilities as the Head of Coverage for Australia & New Zealand. She will report directly to Vanessa Wang, who serves as the Head of Apac and Head of Coverage Apac. As the new CEO, Lidia Tomova will be responsible for shaping the growth strategy of DWS Australia, aiming to enhance the brand’s presence and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
With 20 years of experience at DWS and Deutsche Bank in Australia and the UK, Lidia Tomova brings a wealth of leadership and industry expertise to her new position. She began her career in client-facing sales roles within Deutsche Bank’s global markets division in London.
Tomova emphasized the numerous opportunities for Australian clients to benefit from DWS’s global investment expertise, research capabilities, and extensive client coverage, underscoring Australia’s significant role in shaping pension investments.
In a statement, Vanessa Wang expressed confidence in Tomova’s leadership, highlighting her vision and experience as instrumental in driving strategic objectives and delivering value to clients and stakeholders. Wang also acknowledged Robinson’s contributions in establishing and expanding DWS’s network and client base in Australia.
