Marika Auramo from SAP Leads as CEO of Vodafone Business

Vodafone has announced a significant change in its executive leadership, with Marika Auramo appointed as the CEO of Vodafone Business, effective from July 1, 2024. She will also join Vodafone’s Executive Committee on the same date, bringing with her over 25 years of invaluable experience in the global IT industry. Marika Auramo will succeed Giorgio Migliarina, who has effectively led Vodafone Business as interim CEO.

Marika Auramo comes to Vodafone from SAP, where she served as the Chief Business Officer for the EMEA region. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping SAP’s go-to-market strategy across 89 countries and managing a workforce of 14,000 employees.

Her journey at SAP, which began in 1999, has seen her hold various leadership positions, including COO of EMEA North, Managing Director for the Nordic and Baltic region, Global COO of SAP Database and Data Management in the US, and Interim President of the EMEA region.

Under Migliarina’s leadership, Vodafone Business reported a significant service revenue growth of 5% during the Group’s third-quarter trading update. The division is experiencing growth across all segments, driven by robust public sector demand and the rising adoption of new digital services such as Cloud, Security, and IoT.

Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone Group, expressed her enthusiasm about Marika’s appointment, highlighting her extensive B2B experience and the pivotal role she will play in driving growth within Vodafone Business.

In response, Marika Auramo expressed her eagerness to collaborate with Margherita and the management team, emphasizing the growth opportunities that lie ahead for Vodafone Business. She underscored the increasing demand for digital tools in large corporates, SMEs, and the public sector, indicating her commitment to capturing these opportunities.
