Rebellion Defense Appoints its new CEO
Rebellion Defense has appointed Ben FitzGerald, a military technology expert, as its next Chief Executive. FitzGerald, previously the Executive Director for strategy, data, and design in the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 2018 to 2019, will assume the helm at Rebellion beginning in 2024. He succeeds interim CEO Barry Sowerine, who led the company through a restructuring phase.
FitzGerald’s involvement with Rebellion dates back to his early investment in the company, followed by his tenure as executive chairman. A spokesperson highlighted FitzGerald’s long-standing association with the company, ensuring a seamless transition into his new role.
Rebellion’s recent achievements include securing contracts with significant entities such as the U.S. Army, the National Nuclear Security Administration, and the special operations tech incubator SOFWERX. These partnerships involve the deployment of Rebellion’s Nova product, a continuous and automated cybersecurity testing tool.
