Stoelzle Glass Group Owner’s Son August Grupp Becomes CEO

Stoelzle Glass Group, the Austrian glass manufacturer, has officially appointed Dr. August Grupp as its incoming Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Grupp will be succeeding Georg Feith, who, after a successful five-year tenure, is transitioning to a new leadership position within CAG Holding, the parent company of Stoelzle.

Dr. August Grupp is the son of Dr. Cornelius Grupp, who has been the owner of Stoelzle Glass Group since 1987. Expressing his thoughts on his new role, August Grupp stated, “I am proud to be entrusted as CEO of Stoelzle Glass Group. I am fully committed to upholding my responsibilities in ensuring the company’s continuous growth while preserving our family values.”

Dr. Cornelius Grupp, Chairman of the Board and the proprietor of Stoelzle Glass Group, shared his excitement about this new chapter, saying, “I am very happy that my son is stepping into the new role of CEO. I trust his abilities to lead and manage the company for the good and the long term.”

Stoelzle Glass Group issued a statement, saying, “Dr. August Grupp comes well prepared to his new role, having held several key leadership positions within the group since 2019. In his last position, he served as the Head of the Business Unit Spirits, driving substantial growth in the company’s largest Business Unit.” Starting in 2021, he also took charge of the commercial and production operations of Anchor Hocking, a glassworks acquired by the group in the United States.

Dr. Grupp holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich, an MBA from INSEAD in Singapore and France, and a PhD from Sophia University in Tokyo.
