Disadvantages Of Conflicts And 6 Reasons To Stop Them

Fighting to defend our best interests or fighting over to see who is right and wrong can be exhausting. The reasons we should stop it are crucial, and a new mindset will help us live a happier and healthier life. Let’s talk about them.

  1. Protecting your health
Chloe Zao is the director who won the 2021 Oscar Award for directing Nomadland. Her plain appearance and speech at the awards were very discussed. Among others, she mentioned a phrase from a Chinese poem that mentions that everybody is inherently good when they come to life. Eastern culture often praises peace and suggests that it is the magic pill for all well-being. Long-term fights will not lead to anything good in how one’s life and health will be formed.
  2. Lose important people in your life
Another vital result of fights is that we might end up losing people who we love and who love us back and people who are important in our lives, all sacrificed over our strong ego. As mentioned before, you never know how things will end up, and you have to be prepared to deal with the possibility of pushing others away from you and losing them once and for good. The damage cannot always be reversed. So, fighting can be characterized as a thoughtless behavior.
  3. Physical damage and injuries
People rarely start a fight with the intention of getting hurt or hurting others. All the unpleasant situations come afterward. When things start over, no one knows how they will evolve. The ability to predict the future does not exist, so don’t underestimate the aggressiveness hidden inside you and the other person. A small sparkle can start a fire, and in fights, this is not for the best. The law dislikes conflicts as well. In extreme cases, things can take a really bad turn. For some people, suspension or even jail is on the table. This is why avoiding tricky situations is so highly recommended.
  4. Having better things to do
We often believe that if we allow ourselves to fight with someone, we will get it out of our systems, and we will be able to move on to the next level without keeping toxic feelings within our hearts. However, this is not how the human mind works. The mind works in a miraculously simple way. The object to which we turn our attention is what will finally dominate our thoughts. Living in the past will allow the emotions to take control of your life instead of you taking control of it. Which way would you prefer that to be? Overthinking things that make us angry will give space to these feelings. Finally, instead of dealing with them, we are just feeding them. When villagers want to destroy a snake, they do not necessarily kill it. They often use a trap to keep it in a closed barrel. Then they let the snake die due to lack of food. In other words, they do not deal with the snake; they just don’t feed it.
  5. Hurting others and the side losses
The explosion that comes from feelings of anger that we can’t control has multiple consequences. Not only should we care to protect ourselves and the people who we fight with, but also the people around us. If, for example, we share similar companies, we could create an uncomfortable climate for the group and destroy the whole company. The worst-case scenario is that we may hurt younger or weaker people that happen to be close to the fight. When the bomb explodes, we should at least ensure it doesn’t hurt innocent kids who will struggle with traumas for the rest of their lives.
  6. Bringing the worst out of people
Remember, if you can’t fight something back, you should simply try to fix it. Turning against others leaves them with fewer options. Without even realizing it, you may encourage people to adopt manipulative behaviors. That’s right, people will adjust their behavior, and it may not always be how you expect it to be. The discussion will bring better results, and you might end up bonding even further. Besides, who said that creating a conflict is the only way to communicate? Don’t limit your and other people’s options by underestimating your ability to talk. If you are not good at it, you can try to cultivate it. Remember, disagreements are not always a reason to step further away from each other. In other words, what doesn’t break us makes us stronger.
