Mage Studio Acquires SentTell for an Undisclosed Amount

In today’s world, protecting your children has become more important than ever. When it comes to children, parents have more to worry about than ever before. Getting the help they need is not always easy. For that reason, Mage Studio has joined forces with SentTell – a San Francisco based company to create an innovative application that can be used to help parents and guardians keep tabs on their children.

The new application has been specifically designed to prevent teenagers and young adults from sexting by automatically notifying parents about how they are using their mobile devices.

How Does It Work?

SentTell, the name of the application allows parents to assign their email address to the mobile device so they can be alerted anytime the camera is used. Whenever a photo is taken, the image is automatically forwarded to their email so that they can review the type of images their children are taking. While the application is running in the background, parents can let their children know of its existence. This knowledge can work as a deterrent to participating in such risky behavior. When children know that they are being monitored, they are less likely to take part in the kind of activities that might warrant parental disapproval.

Why It’s Needed

Sexting has become quite prevalent in today’s society. According to one Pew research poll, at least 15% of children between the ages of 12 and 17 admit to receiving some form of sexually suggestive material over their mobile devices. There is also strong evidence that solicitation and possession of child porn is on the rise.

These facts outline the rising concern of parents as they try to monitor their children’s behavior. Now that more young people are spending much of their study and play time online where parents are not always aware of what’s happening, the SentTell application seems like the right dose of help at the right time.

Where To Find It

The application can be downloaded from the Android App store. Parents can simply follow the instructions for setup. They will be prompted to provid an email and a password before the device is ready to use. Once setup is complete, an email will be sent to verify the account and then your teen’s phone will be ready for use.

About Mage Studio

Mage Studio has centered its interests on children from the beginning. For years, their work has been focused on both gamification and education ensuring that every child that uses their application has fun while learning. Its new partnership with SentTell will only work to enhance the company’s focus on online safety for children even more.

The plan is to integrate the application in the Mage Studio’s architecture over the next few months. This will make SentTell the first company with its primary focus geared towards helping parents to discourage the use of sexting by their teenagers and young adult children.

In the future, young people will be expected to be online for nearly everything they do. Parents naturally want to warn them of the potential dangers they will be facing. SentTell is making this job much easier to do. Parents can now rest easy as they learn exactly what their children are doing in real time. Once informed of their children’s behavior, they can react quickly so that they can curb any dangerous behavior before it gets out of control. It’s not easy to keep children safe these days, but with new applications offered by companies like SentTell, the job doesn’t have to be as difficult as it could be.
