DFI Retail Group has announced the appointment of Yoep Man as the new CEO of 7-Eleven for South China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore, following the departure of Danni Peirce. Effective immediately, Man will report to Scott Price, the group’s chief executive.
In his new role, Man will oversee the strategic direction and operations of the convenience retail business across these key markets, aiming to drive innovation and growth to better serve evolving customer needs. As part of his leadership responsibilities, he will also join the Group’s management committee, contributing to the organization’s broader strategic initiatives.
With over two decades of experience in the retail industry, particularly in food and FMCG sectors across the Asia-Pacific region, Man has established a strong track record of leadership. Prior to this role, he served as the managing director of food in Singapore for DFI Retail Group, where he successfully led brands such as Giant, Cold Storage, CS Fresh, and Jason’s Deli. Under his leadership, these businesses achieved financial improvements, increased operational efficiency, and stronger market positioning despite the challenges of the retail environment.
Price highlighted that Man’s appointment aligns with the company’s customer-first approach, emphasizing his ability to enhance customer experiences and drive innovation. He noted that Man’s leadership in DFI’s food business in Singapore, along with his deep understanding of the Asian retail market, positions him well to accelerate 7-Eleven’s growth. Price also pointed out that Man’s expertise in digital transformation and operational excellence would be essential in shaping the future of the convenience retail sector across these regions.
This leadership change comes at a time when 7-Eleven is experiencing strong growth, particularly in the expanding ready-to-eat market, while continuing to enhance customer experiences through digital innovation.
Expressing enthusiasm about his new role, Man stated that he was eager to contribute to 7-Eleven’s growth and ambitions in the markets it serves. He looked forward to collaborating with teams and partners to enhance convenience, value, and innovation for customers.
Throughout his career, Man has played key roles in business expansion and operational success, including contributing to the growth of Walmart China’s Sam’s Club business and facilitating the expansion of Dutch-based retailer SPAR into China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Mongolia.
Meanwhile, Peirce reflected on her tenure at DFI Retail Group in a LinkedIn post, describing her time at the company as an unforgettable chapter in her life. She shared that her journey with DFI began in 2018, coinciding with significant personal milestones, including becoming a mother and relocating to Hong Kong. She recalled her experience working across various divisions, including food retail, yuu Rewards, Guardian Health & Beauty, and 7-Eleven, noting that both her professional and personal growth had been deeply intertwined with the organization.
Peirce also emphasized that the most rewarding aspect of her experience had been the people she worked with, from dedicated store teams to passionate individuals in distribution centers and support services. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead and learn from such remarkable teams, calling it the greatest privilege of her career.
