Global Gravity Names Tom Rasmussen as CEO, Eyes Continued Growth
Global Gravity, a leader in tubular systems development, has appointed Tom Rasmussen as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 1, 2025. Rasmussen, who previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), brings over 25 years of experience in offshore and oil and gas operations to his new role.
Under Rasmussen’s leadership as COO, Global Gravity saw significant growth, driven by its patented TubeLock system, the world’s first Tubular Transport Running System (TTRS). Introduced in 2010, TubeLock has transformed offshore pipe handling by enhancing safety, efficiency, and space utilization. The system has proven highly successful, increasing revenue sixfold and helping Global Gravity expand its footprint into Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Guyana, with plans to enter the Brazilian market in the near future.
Rasmussen has been a key figure in promoting awareness of the TubeLock system, which has earned widespread recognition for its ability to optimize pipe handling, reduce costs, and lower CO2 emissions. His appointment marks a new phase of leadership as Global Gravity continues its global expansion and innovation in tubular solutions.
Rasmussen succeeds Kenneth Hagelskjær, the founder of Global Gravity, who will transition to the role of Chairman of the newly formed Board of Directors. Hagelskjær will shift his focus to Engineered Market Solutions (EMS), a sister company providing engineering, production, and services for the energy sector, including wind, oil and gas, and Power-to-X technologies.
Rasmussen expressed his gratitude for the appointment, emphasizing the company’s achievements and the value TubeLock has brought to its clients. He noted that the system’s success has led many customers to actively seek collaborations with Global Gravity, further solidifying its reputation in the industry.
