Saudi Reinsurance Appoints Ahmed Al-Jabr as New CEO

The Saudi Reinsurance Company has officially named Ahmed Al-Jabr as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, succeeding Fahad Al-Hesni. Al-Jabr brings with him 25 years of extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries, having held various executive roles in operations, strategy management, and business development throughout his career.

Before this appointment, Al-Jabr had been serving as Acting CEO since March of this year. His long tenure at Saudi Re began in 2011, during which he previously held the positions of Deputy CEO and Chief Operations Officer.

In addition to his roles at Saudi Re, Al-Jabr has held leadership positions at prominent firms such as NCB Capital, Gulf International Bank, Al Jabr Holding, Asharqia Chamber, Ajzal Capital, and Fikrah, further solidifying his diverse expertise in the financial and business sectors.

A spokesperson for Saudi Re had previously expressed the company’s appreciation for Fahad Al-Hesni’s contributions, wishing him success in his future endeavors. The spokesperson acknowledged Al-Hesni’s significant impact during his tenure as Managing Director and CEO.

Al-Jabr’s appointment comes as Saudi Re focuses on its “Strategy Towards 2028,” which aims to strengthen its competitive edge and sustain its profitable growth both in domestic and international markets. In the first half of this year, Saudi Re reported a 19% growth in gross written premiums, amounting to SAR 1.4 billion, signaling strong momentum under its strategic initiatives.
