Leadership Transition at Unifeeder Group as CEO Jesper Kristensen Steps Down
Jesper Kristensen, the long-serving CEO of Unifeeder Group, has decided to step down from his position. Additionally, Kristensen has resigned from his role as Chief Operating Officer of DP World Marine Services, a position he held since 2021.
Martin Gaard Christiansen will succeed Kristensen, overseeing Unifeeder’s operations in Europe, the Americas, and West and North Africa. Meanwhile, Ganesh Raj will assume the role of CEO for Unifeeder FZCO, managing the company’s business in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Kristensen’s journey with Unifeeder began in 1990 when he joined as a capacity manager. He ascended to the role of group CEO in 2007, guiding the company through significant growth and transformation. Despite stepping down from his executive roles, Kristensen will remain involved as a non-executive representative for DP World in P&O Ferries, P&O Ferrymasters, and P&O Maritime Logistics.
In a statement, the company expressed its gratitude for Kristensen’s contributions, noting his invaluable dedication and energy that embodied the true Unifeeder spirit. The statement also conveyed optimism about the future under the new leadership of Christiansen and Raj.
Kristensen’s tenure at Unifeeder has been marked by substantial achievements. He played a pivotal role in expanding Unifeeder’s services and strengthening its position in the global feeder shipping industry. Under his leadership, the company navigated various market challenges and adapted to the evolving demands of the shipping and logistics sectors.
Martin Gaard Christiansen brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His strategic vision and expertise are expected to drive Unifeeder’s growth in Europe, the Americas, and West and North Africa. Christiansen’s appointment signals a continued commitment to innovation and excellence in these regions.
Ganesh Raj, who will lead Unifeeder FZCO, has a strong background in managing operations across diverse markets. His focus will be on expanding Unifeeder’s footprint in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, regions that are crucial to the company’s global strategy. Raj’s leadership is anticipated to enhance operational efficiency and foster closer relationships with clients and partners in these areas.
The leadership transition at Unifeeder reflects the company’s adaptive strategy in response to the dynamic global shipping landscape. This change in leadership also underscores Unifeeder’s commitment to maintaining its core values while embracing new strategies to meet the future demands of the shipping industry.
