Philipp Navratil Becomes CEO of Nespresso Charting the Next Chapter of Premium Coffee Excellence
Nespresso, the renowned Swiss coffee pod giant, has announced Philipp Navratil as its new CEO, effective July 1, 2024. Navratil, currently the Head of Nestlé’s Coffee Strategic Business Unit, brings a wealth of international coffee expertise to his new role, succeeding Guillaume Le Cunff, who will transition to lead Nestlé’s European division. In his new capacity, Navratil will lead Nespresso’s global operations, steering the brand’s continued success and innovation in the premium coffee market. His appointment comes as part of a strategic transition, with Le Cunff assuming the role of CEO for Nestlé’s European division.
Le Cunff’s tenure at Nespresso has been marked by notable achievements, including driving geographic expansion, pioneering sustainability initiatives such as the Reviving Origins program, and introducing home-compostable capsule ranges. Mark Schneider, CEO of Nestlé, praised Le Cunff as an inspiring leader with extensive experience in brand building, innovation, e-commerce, and sustainability, highlighting his suitability to elevate Zone Europe to new heights.
David Rennie, Head of Nestlé Coffee Brands, expressed confidence in Navratil’s appointment, citing his established reputation as a coffee expert and his significant contributions to the development of the Nescafé brand in Mexico.
Nespresso, formed by Nestlé in 1985, operates globally across 81 markets and boasts over 800 boutique outlets across 76 countries. Under Navratil’s leadership, Nespresso aims to further enhance its position as a leader in premium coffee excellence, delivering exceptional products and experiences to coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
