Aon Appoints Roman Romeo as CEO of Reinsurance Solutions Bermuda
Aon, a renowned global professional services firm, has designated Roman Romeo as the Chief Executive Officer of its Reinsurance Solutions Bermuda unit, effective April 1, 2024. This announcement coincides with the confirmation that Tony Fox, currently serving as CEO and Chairman of Reinsurance Solutions Bermuda, will retain his position as Chairman.
In his upcoming role, Romeo will be stationed in Bermuda, directly reporting to Tony Fox. His responsibilities will encompass spearheading Aon’s reinsurance operations in Bermuda while fostering a collaborative atmosphere that leverages the firm’s global network expertise.
Romeo’s tenure with the company dates back to 2022, bringing with him over 23 years of invaluable industry experience. Notably, he spent six years at Axis Capital, holding the position of President and Head of Property at Axis Specialty Limited. Prior to that, he dedicated eight years to reinsurer PartnerRe, where he served as Senior Underwriter in Property Catastrophe.
Andy Marcell, CEO of Aon’s Risk Capital and Reinsurance Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, emphasizing Aon’s commitment to facilitating informed decisions for clients and markets through its Bermuda operations. He cited Bermuda’s status as a premier re/insurance jurisdiction, offering innovative solutions and attracting top carriers dedicated to providing comprehensive risk coverage.
Tony Fox echoed Marcell’s sentiments, praising Romeo’s impressive track record and industry insight. He anticipates Romeo fostering an environment conducive to optimal performance among Bermuda’s professionals, thereby enhancing client outcomes in navigating volatility, capital optimization, and resilience-building.
