Prepare for the ultimate showdown as the 2024 Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) gears up to host the highly anticipated Australia’s Richest Barista competition, boasting a staggering prize pool of $40,000.
Set to unfold within the vibrant ambiance of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 12th to 14th, MICE2024 promises three days of caffeinated thrills and fierce competition. The knock-out format competition is tailored to showcase barista talent on a global stage, captivating both industry insiders and coffee aficionados alike.
With only 32 coveted competitor slots up for grabs, the battle will unfold across three intense head-to-head rounds: Barista, Latte Art, and Cup Tasting. These rounds will put baristas’ practical and sensory skills to the ultimate test, culminating in a display of excellence in coffee preparation and tasting.
The path to glory is open to all, with 15 positions reserved for MICE2023 exhibitors, five slots allocated for association members, and 12 spots available for general industry members, including international baristas. Applications will close at 11:59 pm on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, so aspiring contenders are encouraged to showcase their craft and vie for the prestigious title of Australia’s Richest Barista.
