Leadership Changes at Metaco: CEO Adrien Treccani and Chief Product Officer Peter DeMeo Depart
Metaco, the cryptocurrency custody firm acquired by Ripple in May 2023, has seen the departure of its CEO, Adrien Treccani, and Chief Product Officer, Peter DeMeo.
A Ripple spokesperson confirmed the exits, acknowledging the significant contributions of Treccani and his team in building an industry-leading custody business and integrating it with Ripple’s operations post-acquisition. Custody remains a crucial aspect of Ripple’s expanding business, aiming to provide top-tier enterprise crypto solutions globally.
Before its acquisition by Ripple, Metaco had established itself as a key partner for European banks seeking digital asset custody solutions. Notably, Metaco had recently partnered with HSBC. However, following the acquisition, there were reports suggesting that banks were reassessing their relationship with Metaco.
