Former Brussels Airlines CEO Peter Gerber Assumes the Helm at Condor Airlines
Peter Gerber, former CEO of Brussels Airlines, assumes the helm at German carrier Condor Airlines, succeeding Ralf Teckentrup, who concluded his nearly two-decade tenure as CEO in December.
Condor, under Teckentrup’s stewardship, navigated through significant challenges and embarked on expansion endeavors, including the introduction of a business class cabin. The airline, previously a part of Thomas Cook Group until its dissolution in 2019, is presently under the ownership of private equity firm Attestor.
Gerber, whose aviation journey commenced at Lufthansa Group in 1992, served as CEO of Brussels Airlines from March 2021 to February 2023. Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Gerber acknowledges Teckentrup’s leadership in steering Condor through turbulent times while laying a solid foundation for its future.
He emphasizes Condor’s transition to a cutting-edge fleet, substantial workforce expansion, and investments in IT and digitalization as pivotal initiatives that will be continued under his leadership. Gerber affirms his commitment to driving Condor’s transformation and fostering sustainable long-term growth.
