Ørjan Lunde Takes the Helm at KGJS
Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi (KGJS) has undergone a leadership transition, appointing Ørjan Lunde as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Lunde officially assumed the CEO position on January 1, succeeding Geir Mjelde, who led KGJS since June 2019. Mjelde will continue with the company in a transitional capacity until May 2024.
Formerly the Chief Financial Officer since August 2019, Lunde’s role has been filled by Torstein Bruvik, previously the VP of Finance and Treasury, a position he held since 2014.
Hans Peter Jebsen, the owner and chairman of the KGJS Board, expressed confidence in Lunde’s abilities, citing his adeptness in change management and strategic vision from his prior role. Jebsen also acknowledged Mjelde’s contributions and wished him success in future endeavors.
Expressing enthusiasm for the new position, Lunde shared his excitement about leading KGJS and emphasized plans for furthering the company’s dry bulk activities alongside the capable team in Bergen.
