Rick Brown Becomes CFO of Brix Holdings

Brix Holdings, the parent company overseeing Friendly’s, Red Mango, Orange Leaf, Smoothie Factory & Kitchen, SouperSalad, and Pizza Jukebox, has appointed Rick Brown as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. In this capacity, Brown will oversee the financial and accounting functions across all Brix brands.

With a rich 30-year background in executive roles within the retail and restaurant industries, Brown most recently held the position of CFO at TGI Fridays, overseeing the financial operations of the brand. His prior experience includes roles as a senior director of finance at Blockbuster and a senior financial analyst at Dollar Rent A Car, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile.

Brown stated, “I am incredibly excited to be joining the BRIX team.” He continued, ”We have an exceptional group of brands, team members, and franchisees that all contribute to our success. I see this as a great opportunity to guide this high-growth restaurant group to its next level of performance, and I am ready for the challenge.”

Sherif Mityas, CEO of BRIX Holdings, expressed enthusiasm about Brown joining the leadership team, highlighting his extensive financial and industry expertise as a significant asset for the company’s ongoing expansion through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Brix Holdings has been actively bolstering its executive team over the past few years, including the appointment of Mityas in 2022. Additionally, the company has consistently expanded its portfolio by adding brands and introducing the exclusive Pizza Jukebox. It intends to pursue further growth and potential brand acquisitions.
