GeoPark Names Jaime Caballero Uribe as its new CFO

GeoPark Limited (NYSE: GPRK), a prominent independent Latin American oil and gas explorer, operator, and consolidator, has appointed Jaime Caballero Uribe as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective January 15, 2024.

Jaime will be entrusted with overseeing GeoPark’s financial management, including capital allocation, business planning, performance execution, oil and gas commercial operations, capital markets, tax, shareholder value, financial reporting, and information technology.

Andrés Ocampo, CEO of GeoPark, expressed pride in Jaime’s appointment, citing his extensive experience in the industry and the region, highlighting his track record of creating value and driving business performance.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Jaime brings expertise from various senior roles in large corporations, start-ups, and entrepreneurial ventures. Until August 2023, he served as Group CFO at Ecopetrol (NYSE: EC), Colombia’s largest corporation and a global top 400 company. At Ecopetrol, he contributed to achieving significant milestones, including securing over $20 billion in growth financing and debt restructuring. He was recognized by Institutional Investor as one of the top three sector CFOs in Latin America during his tenure. Previously, Jaime held multiple positions at BP plc over 17 years, culminating as CFO for the Brazil Region, which encompassed Colombia, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

He holds a degree in Law from Universidad de los Andes, an MBA in Energy Business from Fundaçao Getulio Vargas, and certificates in CFO Excellence from Wharton and Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies from Stanford.
