OYO has announced the promotion of Rakesh Kumar as the Chief Financial Officer, effective from January 1, 2024. Abhishek Gupta, the current CFO, will remain at OYO in an advisory and mentorship role, as stated by OYO in an official statement.
Additionally, Ankit Tandon, Global Chief Business Officer and CEO of SEAME (South East Asia and Middle East), will now oversee investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and financial planning and analysis functions.
Kumar, presently serving as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, will assume the role of CFO, continuing his oversight of financial strategy and operational efficiency, according to the company. His responsibilities span various financial functions, including business finance across markets, treasury, controllership, shared services, financial and investor reporting, taxation, and financial planning and analysis.
During his six-year tenure at OYO, Kumar has been instrumental in maintaining the company’s financial stability amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership facilitated successful equity and debt raises, as well as strategic acquisitions.
