Ascot Group Taps Selective Insurance Executive Mark Wilcox to Serve as CFO

Ascot Group, the insurance firm, has appointed Mark Wilcox as its new Group Chief Financial Officer, effective from November 8, 2023. He will report to the Group CEO and President, Jonathan Zaffino.

Mark Wilcox comes to Ascot from Selective Insurance Group, where he held the position of Executive Vice President and CFO. During his tenure at Selective, he oversaw global finance operations, capital management strategy, accounting, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, investments, reinsurance, enterprise risk management, procurement, contracts, and tax.

Before joining Selective, Wilcox spent over a decade at Renaissance Re in Bermuda, where he served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer.

In his new role at Ascot, Wilcox will take charge of leading the company’s global finance organization and capital strategy, which includes responsibilities for financial planning and analysis, tax, and treasury functions.
