AECI Welcomes Imperial Executive Rochelle Gabriels to Become CFO and Executive Director

AECI, a diversified chemicals solutions company, has appointed Rochelle Gabriels as its Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, effective from September 29. This appointment comes after the resignation of the former CFO, Aarti Takoordeen, in April. During the interim period, Rafael Fernandes served as the acting CFO and will return to his role as the Financial Director of AECI Mining after a smooth transition period with Gabriels.

In her new role as CFO and Executive Director at AECI, Gabriels will also oversee areas such as mergers and acquisitions, information technology, enterprise risk management, and strategic projects. Dr. Khotso Mokhele, Chairperson of AECI, expressed excitement about Gabriels’ appointment and emphasized the positive impact of her strong leadership and extensive financial expertise on the company. Her appointment further enhances the board’s skills and diversity, positioning AECI for continued success in the future.

Rochelle Gabriels joins AECI from Imperial, a DP World company, where she held the position of DP World Sub-Saharan Africa Head of Finance Logistics and Shared Services. With over 15 years of senior finance experience, Gabriels has occupied various executive roles, including CFO positions, at multinational companies.
