Leadership Transition at Epic Baking

AUA Private Equity Partners, LLC has implemented significant changes within the senior management team at Epic Baking Co., appointing Phil Jones as the new Chief Executive Officer, Brett Hill as Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Clark as Chief Sales Officer, and Greg Warrick as Vice President of Operations.

Founded in 1985 in Atlanta, Epi Breads specializes in baking and distributing a wide range of artisan-crafted bread products for leading food service chains and grocery retailers. Epi Breads is a wholly owned subsidiary of Epic Baking Co., which was formed in September 2021 following AUA Private Equity’s acquisition of Epi Breads.

Before joining Epic in July, Mr. Jones served as President of Darnel Group, North America, for over four years. Prior to that, he held various positions at CSM Bakery Solutions, including Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, as well as Global Vice President of Foodservice. Additionally, he spent more than eight years at HJ Heinz Co. and had an 18-year tenure with Coca-Cola Co.

Mr. Hill brings with him 30 years of finance experience from prominent global companies, particularly within the consumer products and food manufacturing sectors. His most recent position was Vice President of Finance at Maple Leaf Foods, Inc., and he has previously worked at Brambles, United Technologies, Pitney Bowes, and Ford Motor Co.

Mr. Clark boasts 35 years of experience in the food industry. He previously served as Vice President of Sales at Pretzilla Inc. and held senior positions at Tonic Partners, Flatout, Inc., Wenner Bread Products, ConAgra Foods, and Pillsbury Bakeries and Foodservice.

Mr. Warrick arrives from AJM Packaging Corp., where he served as Director of Manufacturing. His professional background includes roles as Director of Operations North America at Darnel Group, Plant Manager at STEMCO, Plant Manager at Pactiv, LLC, and Senior Business Consultant at TBM Consulting Group.

Epic Baking Co. has outlined its vision for the new executive leadership team, aiming to establish the company as a trusted advisor to the artisan and specialty bread industry. Their goal is to expand market share with existing and new customers and channels while actively seeking acquisitions in adjacent categories to accelerate growth.
