Ahmed Alkreebani is Kuwait Airways’ acting CEO
The state-owned airline Kuwait Airways (KA.UL) has announced the appointment of Ahmed Alkreebani, its former Chief Executive Officer, as the acting CEO. This announcement was made on the company’s official Twitter account late on Tuesday, while earlier this week, there was a report that the former CEO, Maen Razouqi, had submitted his resignation.
Alkreebani is returning to the position of CEO after resigning about ten years ago due to a controversy related to a deal to purchase used Airbus aircraft from India’s Jet Airways.
Kuwait Airways faced a net loss of 55 million dinars ($178.16 million) in 2022. In August, Razouqi stated that the airline might experience delays of up to 12 months in receiving some Airbus aircraft. However, the company aims to achieve profitability by 2025.
