The 10 Female CEOs in FTSE 100 companies in the United Kingdom, 2023

There are currently nine female chief executives in the FTSE 100, the group of the largest businesses traded on the London Stock Exchange by market cap. When Allison Kirkby takes over as BT’s new CEO next year, she’ll be the tenth female CEO among the leaders of the FTSE 100 companies in the United Kingdom.

Britain’s biggest listed firms have been accused of an ‘appalling’ lack of progress in promoting women to executive roles. This year, 91 percent of FTSE 100 CEOs are men, meaning just 9 percent of companies have female CEOs, according to the latest report from the CEOWORLD magazine. The total of nine FTSE 100 female chief executives is just one up on last year.

These include 44-year-old Italian-born Milena Mondini-de-Focatiis of the Admiral Group, the youngest female CEO on the list, as well as Amanda Blanc of Aviva, Dame Emma Walmsley at the drugmaker GSK, and Jennie Daly at the housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
