New Bulgarian University

Bulgaria is one of the members of the European Union and is flanked by a number of countries in all directions. Its education sector does not attract as much attention as its counterparts; however, it has some good educational institutions that should be considered. A high-standard university in the country is duly recognized by the designated organization such as the Ministry of Higher Education and offers an array of recognized courses to students.   1. Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski
    Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski is an esteemed public university located in the namesake city. It offers some of the largest numbers of courses to students and witnesses high enrolment numbers. Presently, there are 16 faculties in its academic organization including the Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Faculty of History, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Theology, and Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication. Complementing these are 3 departments namely the Department of Language Learning, Sports Department, and the Department for Information and In-service Training of Teachers. Former Bulgarian President, Zhelyu Zhelev, was an alumnus of the university.
  2. New Bulgarian University
    Founded in the year 1991, New Bulgarian University is a private educational institute that focuses on imparting multi-disciplinary education to its education. It is spread out in 2 buildings and includes as many as 100 halls and studios. It also maintains one of the most visited libraries in the country. Students can apply to courses offered in myriad departments such as Cognitive Science, Fine Arts, History, Plastic Arts, Tourism, Mass Communications, and Earth and Environmental Sciences. There are also centers under its aegis such as the Bulgarian Centre for Human Relations and South-East European Center for Semiotic Studies.

  3. Technical University of Sofia
    Another university based in the capital city of Bulgaria, Technical University of Sofia was established in the year 1945 and was originally called the Higher technical School. It operates its programs from 5 campuses located in different cities, with the main campus situated in Sofia. You can find faculties of Automation, Management, Transport, Power engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering and Pedagogy, and German Engineering Education and Industrial Management. Its organization also comprises a couple of high schools namely the Technological School of Electronic Systems and Professional Secondary School of Computer Technologies and Systems.  The University conducts many student exchange programs throughout the year, allowing students to seek international educational experiences.
  4. Angel Kanchev University of Ruse
    Also known as the University of Ruse, the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse was founded in the year 1945 and was the first higher technical school in the country to be situated outside the capital. So far as courses available here, there are many faculties to consider such as the Agrarian and Industrial Faculty, Faculty of Transport, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Education, Faculty of Public Health and Health Care, and Faculty of Law. The University of Ruse participates in international events and programs from time to time, and this is evident from its memberships in the Danube Rectors’ Conference and the European Universities Association.
  5. Medical University-Varna
    The Medical University of Varna is the place to go if you are aiming for a thriving future in the fields of healthcare and medicine. It follows international standards as it observes the EFQM® model for quality control and enhancement. Interested students can avail of courses offered by its illustrious faculties such as the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Science, Faculty of Public Health, and Faculty of Pharmacy.  There is also a Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Communications and Sports to impart linguistic skills to students in all faculties. Its doctoral programs are quite extensive and cover the areas of Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Psychology, and Medicine.
