Top 10 US E-Commerce Companies, 2020
Amazon comes first at United States citizen’s preferences when they want to make their online purchases. According to eMarketer data, Amazon’s retail e-commerce sales share for 2020 reached 38,7%, leaving far behind all the other competitors. Amazon is at the top of the list which includes the giants of e-commerce in the United States for 2020. The company announced that net sales 2019 increased 20% to 280.5 billion dollars, compared with 232.9 billion dollars in 2018. Excluding the 2.6 billion dollars unfavorable impact from year-over-year changes in foreign exchange rates throughout the year, net sales increased 22% compared with 2018.
In the second place comes Walmart. The company’s retail e-commerce sales share for 2020 reached 5,3%. eBay ranked third, according to eMarketer data with a total 4.7% online sales share for 2020. Apple and The Home Depot follow closely at 4th and 5th place of the list with total 3.7% and 1,7% online sales share for 2020 respectively.
The list also includes Wayfair, Best Buy, Target, Costco and Macy’s. Although these five companies have managed to gain a place at the list, their online sales share is very small comparing to the leader Amazon.

The rank represents the gross value of products or services sold (browser or app), regardless of the method of payment or fulfillment. Travel and events tickets are excluded.
