Ranked: US Cities Where Adult Children Still Live With Their Parents, 2020
Among large U.S. cities with the most adult children still living at home, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach (Florida) rank first. The data shows 33.20% of young adults 25-34-years old are living with their parents in the city.
According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Current Population Survey, the percentage of 25- to 34-year-olds living with their parents reached 16.8% in 2019, after steadily rising from 10.8% in 2005. To improve relevance, only areas with at least 1,000,000 people were included in the analysis. The researchers ranked metros according to the percentage of young adults aged 24-35 living with their parents.
