RANKED: The World’s Best Countries For A Child To Be Born In, 2020

Best countries in the world for a child to be born in have been revealed, the 2020 index shows that children in South Korea and Norway have the best chance at survival and wellbeing, while the United States ranks 36th. The United Kingdom ranks lower than 11 other countries on measurements of children’s “nutrition & health” and “education & wellbeing”.

South Korea has been recognized as the best country in the world for a child to be born in for 2020, according to CEOWORLD magazine, while Norway and Japan placed second and third, respectively. The CEOWORLD magazine report compares factors including “education & wellbeing” and “nutrition & health” in a global index of 180 countries. Youngsters in Sierra Leone, Somalia, Niger, Central African Republic, and Chad face the worst odds.

The 2020 rankings placed Belgium in fourth ahead of Iceland into fifth; while the Netherlands ranked sixth and France seventh. Overall, among the top 10 best countries in the world for a child to be born in, the eighth, ninth, and tenth positions are held by Ireland, Denmark, and Sweden.
