Milwaukee, Wisconsin tops the 2019 list of highest paying US cities for doctors at an average annual salary of $395,3632,, according to a new research study on the 2019 labor market for doctors by Doximity. Two California cities – Riverside and Los Angeles – made the top ten highest-paying urban areas.

To produce the report, the networking app for physicians surveyed nearly 70,000 licensed U.S. doctors and 7,500 nurses who practice at least 40 hours per week between 2018 and 2019. The average physician salary in the United States hovers just below $200,000, doctors in the top paying city, Milwaukee, earn nearly $400,000 a year.
