Sweden is a well-respected Scandinavian country, which like other Scandinavian country excels in human development index. Education is a key area of development over which Swedish State makes sure it invests as much as it can. From making education mandatory for children between certain ages to providing heavily subsidized education overall, Swedish education system is regarded as one of the best in the world.

Naturally, its higher education system can be expected to be top-class—which it is. The higher education system fits very well with the education systems across Europe and follows the Bologna process. Aside from structural incorporations, the institutions of higher education are staffed with capable academic and non-academic individuals who together contribute to making Swedish universities some of the best in the world.

    Anyone who wishes to pursue a strong career in medical science would know about the formidable status of Karolinska Institute as one of the best in the world. Situated in Solna, the university is one of the oldest medical institutes in the country. Today, it offers a plethora of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including nursing, psychology, radiography, and audiology.
  2. Lund University 
    Lund University is a public university which remains consistent in the top 100 world rankings. It was established back in 1666 and has produced an army of great professionals throughout its history. Presently, it has 8 faculties and coordinates with many universities and international institutes to enhance the learning experience of its students.
  3. Uppsala University 
    Welcome to the oldest university in Sweden! Uppsala University was founded in 1477 and was originally a center for theological studies. It has grown into a research university with an extensive academic curriculum in three disciplines namely, arts and social sciences, science and technology, and pharmacy. Uppsala University is a highly respected university, and this is evident from its membership to the distinguished Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities.
  4. Stockholm University 
    While Stockholm University was founded as far as in 1878, it became a university only in 1960.     KTH Royal Institute of Technology is a popular and highly respected university in the field of engineering and technology. Ever since its establishment in 1827, it has grown into a well-rounded, internationally acclaimed research university which performs consistently well in international rankings.
  7. Chalmers University of Technology
    The Chalmers University of Technology was founded in 1829 and is located in Gothenburg. It is a research-oriented institution focussing majorly on architecture, natural science, technology and maritime.   8. Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

While it is known for many things, it is most renowned for its research concerning the genome of Norway Spruce and Populus tree. It is said to be a highly ranked university in terms of international student satisfaction.
  10. Örebro University
    Örebro University was founded in 1977 as a college but became a university in 1999. Presently, it runs 7 schools in various disciplines such as business, Law, and Music. It is most notable for its law program as it is regarded as one of the top 10 programs in the country. In international rankings, it is usually among the top 400 universities and is considered as one of the best performing young universities in the world.
