These Are The Top 50 Universities In Asia, 2019

Tsinghua University (also known as THU or Qinghua) in Beijing

Interestingly, the National University of Singapore (NUS) is no longer the top university in Asia but has slipped to second place. China’s prestigious Tsinghua University is now ranked number one in Asia. It is worth noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping is a graduate of Tsinghua University.

The 2019 ranking comprises 417 universities, expanded from 359 last year, covering 27 countries and regions. Japan is the most-represented nation, with 103 institutions.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) climbed 2 places to 3rd. The University of Hong Kong remains in 4th place. Peking University drops 2 places to 5th.

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; the University of Tokyo, Japan; Seoul National University, South Korea; and Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea complete this year’s top ten.
