Study: Top Countries In The World For Government E-Payments Adoption ranking, 2018

When it comes to government e-payment adoption, the United States has been ranked among the top countries in the world by the EIU. The freshly-published Government e-Payments Adoption Ranking Index ranked the U.S. 12th out of 73 countries, just behind leaders Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

The study ranks governments by quantifying their e-payment capabilities based on various indicators such as Citizen to Government, Government to Citizen, Business to Government, Government to Business, Infrastructure, Social and Economic context, and Policy Context.

Norway (ranked first) tops the list, scoring 89.7 points, followed by France (second) and Denmark (third).

Canada and Australia completed the top 5 overall, while the United Kingdom, South Korea, Singapore, Finland, and Sweden rounded out the top 10.

Other notables included the US (12th), Germany (14), Brazil (17), Japan (22), India (28), Russia (29), Mexico (32), South Africa (42), China (48) and Nigeria (66).

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Iraq finished bottom of the ranking, preceded by Cambodia and Mozambique.

Prof. Dr. Amarendra Bhushan Dhiraj is a publishing executive and economist who is the CEO and editor-in-chief of The CEOWORLD magazine, one of the world’s most influential and recognized global news publications.
