How are they ranked?

The list this year features more than 400 universities in Asia. It was compiled assessing universities on 10 indicators, including the number of academic staff qualified up to PhD level, the proportion of inbound and outbound exchange students, academic and employer reputation and student-teacher ratio, among others.

This is not the first NTU has bested NUS in global rankings. In Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) Rankings 2017, released earlier this week, National University of Singapore (NUS) took 61st place worldwide. However, CEOWORLD magazine’s best universities for graduate employability in 2017, the gap between the two rivals are much bigger. National University of Singapore (NUS) was ranked at No. 13 and Nanyang Technological University was at No. 111. Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) placed 9th and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) followed in 12th place on the list of the world’s best universities for engineering and technology for 2017. Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 2018: Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was at 52nd spot, while National University of Singapore (NUS) shared the 22nd place with Canada’s University of Toronto.
