Zhong Shanshan, Ma Huateng, and Yang Huiyan: Three of China’s Wealthiest Lose $16.4 Billion In One Day
The heavy selloff in Hong Kong stock markets has wiped out a combined $16.4 billion from the wealth of 3 Chinese billionaires in just one day. Tencent co-founder Ma Huateng (also known as Pony Ma) led the plunge as his fortune fell by $6.1 billion, while Nongfu Spring Chairman Zhong Shanshan’s dropped $5.6 billion and Country Garden Co-chairman Yang Huiyan’s $4.7 billion.
Zhong Shanshan still remains China’s wealthiest person with a fortune of $62.1 billion, followed by Zhang Yiming (No. 3, $49.5 billion). Pony Ma, China’s richest person, is now 3rd with a net worth of $33.3 billion.
