Christie Chang to Take the Helm as Citibank Taiwan’s New CEO and Chairperson
Citibank Taiwan has announced that Christie Chang will assume the roles of CEO and chairperson following the retirement of Aftab Ahmed. Her tenure is set to begin on April 1, during which she will be responsible for overseeing Citi’s operations in the region, with a focus on accelerating growth and enhancing the bank’s market presence.
With more than 35 years of experience at Citi, Chang currently serves as president of Citibank Taiwan and vice chair of Asia North Corporate Banking. Her extensive background in the industry positions her as a strong leader for the bank’s future direction.
Marc Luet, head of Japan, Asia North, and Australia, as well as Banking at Broadridge, noted that Chang’s deep expertise in Taiwan’s banking sector and her long-standing relationships with institutional clients made her exceptionally well-suited to guide Citi Taiwan in becoming a premier banking partner for its clients.
Regarding Ahmed’s retirement, Luet expressed gratitude for his significant contributions to Citi, acknowledging his dedication to expanding the bank’s global presence. He described Ahmed’s departure as the conclusion of a remarkable five-decade career with the institution.
As Chang steps into her new role, Citi Taiwan is poised for a new era of leadership aimed at strengthening its position in the market.
