Daiichi Sankyo Appoints Hiroyuki Okuzawa as Next CEO
Daiichi Sankyo has announced that Hiroyuki Okuzawa will assume the role of CEO, succeeding Sunao Manabe, effective April 1, 2025.
The company’s board of directors, acting on the recommendation of the nomination committee, appointed Okuzawa with the objective of strengthening the management structure and ensuring the successful achievement of the year’s strategic goals.
This leadership transition aligns with Daiichi Sankyo’s preparations for the final year of its current five-year business plan in 2025, as well as its roadmap for the financial years 2026 (FY26) to FY30.
Okuzawa, who has been with the company since 1986, currently serves as president, representative director, and chief operating officer (COO), a position he has held since 2023. Before this, he served as chief financial officer for two years and has played a key role in human resources, international business, and corporate strategy. As of September 2024, he holds 50,741 shares in Daiichi Sankyo.
