Everest Group Names Jim Williamson as Acting CEO
Jim Williamson has been named the acting Chief Executive Officer of Everest Group and has also joined the Bermudan company’s Board of Directors. His promotion comes in the wake of Juan C. Andrade’s departure, who had served as Everest’s President and CEO since 2020.
Williamson’s tenure with Everest began in 2020 when he was appointed as Executive Vice President and Group Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he oversaw the company’s reinsurance and insurance operations. Prior to joining Everest, he held the position of Division President for North America Small Business at Chubb. Williamson’s career in insurance began as a casualty underwriter at The Hartford, where he later took charge of underwriting and service operations for the small business insurance division.
Over the years, Williamson has amassed extensive experience across all facets of property and casualty (P&C) commercial and consumer insurance, both within the U.S. and internationally. In addition to his leadership roles, he has held functional responsibilities in key areas such as actuarial services, technology, and claims management. Currently, he serves as chair of the Board of Directors for the Reinsurance Association of America (RAA), a prominent trade organization representing property and casualty reinsurers in the U.S.
Williamson’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His combination of industry expertise and leadership experience positions him to guide Everest Group during this transitional period.
