GoTo Group CEO Commits to Leadership Through 2029 Amid Stellar Performance

GoTo Group, Indonesia’s largest digital ecosystem, has announced that CEO Patrick Sugito Walujo will remain at the helm of the company until 2029. The decision follows notable improvements in GoTo’s performance under Walujo’s leadership over the past year, according to a statement released by the company on Monday.

In the third quarter of 2024, the company reported a 74% year-on-year increase in group core Gross Transaction Value (GTV), reaching 72.0 trillion rupiah. Gross revenue also rose by 34% year-on-year to 4.7 trillion rupiah. This growth was supported by a 21% year-on-year increase in Monthly Transacting Users (MTUs) across GoTo’s ecosystem, showcasing robust user engagement and business expansion.

As CEO, Walujo will concentrate on steering the company toward sustained profitable growth. To support this, GoTo’s Board of Commissioners has approved a performance-based retention package as part of his employment arrangement.

Reflecting on his role, Walujo expressed pride in leading the company and optimism about its future. He shared his belief in the potential of GoTo’s team, its vision, and its role in driving Indonesia’s digital transformation. He emphasized the company’s unique position to shape the nation’s technological landscape by empowering businesses, enhancing daily lives, and contributing to economic growth. Looking ahead, Walujo conveyed confidence in GoTo’s ability to achieve profitable growth and solidify its status as Indonesia’s leading tech company.

Agus D. W. Martowardojo, President Commissioner of GoTo, remarked on the transformative impact of Walujo’s leadership. He highlighted the company’s achievement of positive adjusted EBITDA in the fourth quarter of 2023 and its continued trajectory toward profitability for the entirety of 2024. Martowardojo praised Walujo’s commitment to the company’s long-term success and expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with him to advance stakeholder interests in the years ahead.
