Revealed: Safest Countries in the World, 2025

Paris, France

The world is going through a lot right now with issues like war, terrorism, and civil unrest. The U.S. State Department issued a worldwide caution alert, letting travelers know about the rising risks of terrorism, protests, and violence. However, there’s some good news! Global travel is on the rise—according to a recent report from the UN World Tourism Organization, international travel in 2024 has already increased by 11% compared to 2023 and might even top pre-pandemic levels.

That said, it’s really important to stay informed and travel wisely in this ever-changing world. So, if you’re planning a getaway, you might be wondering: which countries are the safest to visit?

CEOWORLD magazine recently shared a ranking of the world’s safest nations, and in 2025, Iceland topped the list as the safest country! Following Iceland, we have Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, and San Marino as the next safest places to call home.

On the other hand, many African countries are facing some tough challenges related to crime, which has impacted their relationships on the global stage. For example, in 2024, investment in Africa dropped by a whopping $82 billion due to concerns about safety. Additionally, while Africa is home to some incredible attractions, tourism has taken a hit because of internal conflicts, political instability, and crime rates.

With all the chaos from international conflicts, finding out which countries are the safest is more important than ever! It’s interesting to note that nine out of the top ten safest countries are in Europe, with New Zealand being the only one outside the continent to make the list.

Note: Please keep in mind that the rankings we provide cannot predict a country’s future safety. Natural disasters such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, and supercells can occur in any country at any time and are not factored into our rankings. Additionally, economic growth can influence a nation’s safety level. It is important to understand that our rankings do not guarantee a country is safe at present or that every part of the country is equally safe. You should balance our rankings with current events and take extra precautions to stay informed about travel safety issues. Lastly, please note that survey results can vary.
