Historic Prize Money Awaits at T100 Triathlon World Tour Finale in Dubai

This weekend marks the conclusion of the inaugural T100 Triathlon World Tour, with Dubai hosting the final showdown. The season-ending event will be the seventh race in a groundbreaking series that has showcased top-tier competition at an unprecedented level for middle and long-distance triathlon.

With the conclusion of the season comes a prize pool unlike anything the sport has seen before. Here’s what’s at stake for both the women’s race on Saturday and the men’s race on Sunday:

  • $2 million in end-of-season bonuses, with each of the overall winners taking home $210,000.
  • $250,000 in race prizes, with the winner of each race receiving $25,000.
  • $1.5 million in contract payments for the 2025 T100 season, which is expected to feature eight races. Contracts will be offered to the top 10 women and men, providing them a chance to compete at the highest level next year. Although this season’s contract payments totaled $3 million for the top 20 finishers, next season’s top 10 are expected to see a similarly high, if not higher, financial commitment.

Securing a contract for next season opens the door to participating in at least eight $250,000 races, competing for another end-of-season bonus pool, and gaining a significant advantage in the PTO’s global rankings.

The current financial opportunities are unprecedented in triathlon, representing a new era for the sport. Notably, the T100 Triathlon series isn’t an isolated instance of growth.

In a potential response to the Professional Triathletes’ Organisation’s initiatives, which spearheaded the T100 series, the IRONMAN Pro Series also launched this year. After the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships in New Zealand this December, $1.7 million in end-of-season bonuses will be awarded to the top performers.

Another notable series, supertri, concluded this season with short-course athletes sharing over $1 million in prizes. The Grand Final in Neom determined most of the payouts, with prize money tied to innovative team standings.

The World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) also boasts a substantial prize pool, though it’s important to note that the sport’s most prestigious accolade—the Olympic champion title—does not come with a direct financial reward.

Meanwhile, Challenge Family’s World Tour Bonus is nearly finalized, with $100,000 set to be distributed among top performers.

Despite these various competitions, the prize money on offer in Dubai this weekend—exceeding $4 million—remains unparalleled. For more details on the top contenders vying for the record-setting payouts, see our in-depth previews of the women’s and men’s races.
